Black Bow Tie 無意味な

Anonymous:
(Japanese anon) I would assume, because か is technically a question mark, you wouldn't need to have the ? or the other way around! Sorry if you thought i was being rude or anything through this ask. I was just trying to help. p.s. i was taught traditional japanese and my teacher never really explained casual use all that much. We mostly used か to get us used to it. I have seen people use either or, but i am no expert. Just my educated guess c:

no its fine!!! i like talking about stuff like this, you should come off anon :) yeah thats interesting, because my teacher told us to use か, but she didn’t mind if we included a question mark. I think thats probably what got me into a bad habit haha :’)
I was just talking to my friend and she said that question marks are generally used for typing without a か, and in formal writing you would use a か with a full stop. And people use both together, but its not necessary. So i’ll probably change it to just a full stop now!! (plus i like the aesthetic appeal :-))

hey, i just wanted to tell you something about your description c: So, the japanese phrase you have is a question, i assume. In japanese, you do not need the ? at the end of things to indicate its a question. Instead, you put か or ka. This is like a question mark in japan. C:

hey :) i find this interesting because I know that in traditional japanese there are definitely no question marks. However it is very common in modern times for people to use question marks, especially for casual use. But I’m actually not sure how common it is to include か and ? together. I’ve heard that its used but more so in certain occasions so if you know that would be interesting to find out!
